FINALLY
Got My Ear Streched! :-)

Prom
date: June 7, 2001
I wanted to get a tattoo of "Angel" in chinese in
the middle of my back with my boyfriend in attendance. But
he dumped me and now hates me to the ends of the earth. I
got a new prom date, a real good buddy of mine, and I planned
on getting my earlobes pierced at a 10g with barbells with
HIM. But he had to work... *sigh*
ANYWAYS!
My first piercing is a 14g CBR in my helix? (it's the outer
rim of my ear carteledge...) then my second piercing is a
12g CBR about an inch under the first one. It looked funny
to me, I liked the larger gague which is why I got the second
one done at a 12g (I would have gone higher but it was kinda
expensive)
So now I realize it looks dumb... I wanted to strech! I know
that carteledge is really hard to strech and it's one of those
areas that just doesnt do it well, so to help myself out,
I played with the ring as much as possible playing and pulling
at it trying to strech it myself. That way it'll hurt less.....
cuz i'm a sucker for pain!
I go over to the bank machine and take out $20 since I'm thinking
"Ok, the ring and to streach... at most that much right?"
WRONG!
I go to Abstract, where I've gone the other two times I got
pierced and asked for Greg (full name Gre-gory... but everyone
just calls him Greg). I ask him about his opinion on streaching
the 14 to a 12, and he's like "how long you had it?"
so i remember back, and realize it's been exactly a year so
i go "a year..." and he's like "sure no prob."
Then i ask the inevediable... "How much is this gonna
cost?" Greg's nice. He explains the price so it made
sense and said "Ok, $20 for the ring, and $10 to strech"
so that sounds alright. It was more expensive than I thought
but who cares. I'm getting what I want. I tell him I'll be
right back and head out. I was almost thinking to not get
it done and check out other stores for a better price... but
that's just not fair after I told him I'd be back... besides.
I trust Greg.
I go back to the bank machine, get another $20 out and head
back. There's a bunch of people looking at blackart tattoo's
and the place is getting kinda crowded... I just stand there
because I don't really like barging in between other people,
but Greg comes out from the back room and beckons me in.
He's showing me the collection of rings & stuff and picks
out the 12g ring, tells me the speech about it being sterilized
and yada yada yada... grabs this taper-like thing and pushes
it through the hole after taking out my 14g ring. Greg then
announces that I don't need the taper, and pops the 12g ring
in. Didn't hurt a bit!
Looked at the 12g I already had in there and said "Ya,
that one's streached a LOT... you like sitting and playing
with the rings huh?" Which is true I guess. It happened
a lot more since I got two since I like hearing them knock
against each other.
So yup yup. I got two 12g rings in my left ear carteledge
now. My friend brynne at school says it's kinda scary that
I'm streching cartledge but meh. I like it! And after I move
out I'm definatly getting my earlobes pierced so I can strech
that too.
And P.S. That day I walked on Queen St. from Yonge to past
Bathurst 4 times (there AND back) then from Queen Subway station
to Rosedale or Summerhill subway station before giving up
and riding it to finch.
And P.P.S. The guy who works at Condom Shack has 1/2 inch
streched lobes and lotsa tattoos and was REALLY cool when
I asked him about that stuff after asking him about a job
prospect!
FINAL NOTE! Because the jump was quite small and I had already
pre-streched the piercing, there wasn't really anything to
heal! The ring is just a bit tight while I play with it. I'm
considering soon putting in 10g rings just because I should
be able to, and I wish i could find my 14g ring Greg gave
back because I might wanna use it in another project later!
(Hint, to make piercings cheaper if you have extra body-jewlery
lying around, don't hesitate to use it! I don't see the piercers
getting mad as long as it's good jewlery!)
