Strap-On
Tools @ Trin/Port
Strap-On
Tools at Trin/Port. I was there at like almost 7pm because
I got out of work at 6pm. Somehow I followed google's advice
on how to arrive there, which consisted of driving from Mississauga
to Toronto on Dundas, then turning off Dundas onto Bloor,
to end up back onto Dundas then going to Ossington. While
my gut instinct just said "Why not just keep driving
on Dundas?" My logic said "Why would google lie?"
Google lies. Well not really, but Google didn't account for
3 city blocks of Bloor to be closed off for some sort of "Bloor
West" street festival. So I circled and circled until
I ended up back on Bloor and found my way down.
Then
I was early. Super early. Luckily there was one of the bands
that was already there and I asked them what time the show
started, then went wandering the city. I called my friend
who lived "nearby" to see if she'd come out. But
she wasn't home and my phone died. So I walked to her house.
40 glorious minutes. To find out she wasn't home. And I needed
to pee. So I walked all the way back. Then just continued
to circle the city until the parking meter said it was somewhat
closer to the time the show was starting. So I went in and
just sat around.
I
finally got to use my glowsticks, much to the shagrin(?) of
a certain band member who continually reminded me that the
show was not a rave. Whatever. It was too dark to do proper
video, even with the headlamp, and my flash is super annoying
when there's no spotlights so all the pictures are very blurry
and "dream-sequency" But there's 176 pictures for
you so shut up. And the record volume on my MD was too loud,
and it also cut out after the first 27 minutes. The show was
good though. At the end I was the only person singing and
dancing at the stage area so while I felt somewhat like the
kid in the helmet, at least I didn't have my helmet.
And
I got Chad onto a unicycle. For a few seconds at least.
